KPT 3
Vortex Tiler
Seamless Tiler
 |
Figure 1.
Continuing with the same graphic that we have already made, I choose KPT3
Vortex Tiler to do some really wonderful and beautiful things to this.
This is the interface for the vortex tiler. The first thing you see
at the top left is a pattern. I like to say its my splash pattern.
There are 2 different patterns that you can use here for many, many lovely
graphics. If you press on the center of that "splash pattern", it
then becomes a vortex tiler. Here again, the second one down is the
"glue" which can be used to create different lighting effects for the graphic.
And at the bottom, there is the opacity grid, by dragging across you can
change that. Below the picture, you see a little black box with the
words Vortex Radius. You can alter the pattern by dragging across
that area, either right or left. The question mark at the top left
leads to the help files.

Figure 2.
But we are not finished with this graphic yet! The most exciting
thing is to put the cursor inside the picture and drag! This is better
and lots of fun. Never be satisfied with the ordinary, always go
for somewhere no man or woman has ever been before. With KPT3, you
are only limited by your imagination. Compare this one with Figure
1.

Figure 3.
Notice the difference in the pattern selector at the top on the left.
I clicked on that and what you see there represents the vortex tiler.
Its strange to me that whenever I'm in there, little creatures and forms
show up, of their own volition! Look at the hearts that have just
showed up for Valentine's Day.
This again is made by dragging the cursor inside the graphic itself until
a pleasing pattern presents itself.

Figure 5.

Above, you see that I have chosen the "difference" lighting effect inside
the vortex tiler. I see two lovely golden hearts here also, and one
can really feel a fantasy world entrance in this form.
Figure 6.
I have finally decided on one that will become a background.
We really would probably not want this as a background actually because
it is very busy and it would be hard to make a text color other than white
show up against it. Notice that I've gone back to the splash pattern
again.

Figure 8.
Now we are ready to apply the seamless tiler. After youthis
up, click on the "mode" box that is first at the top left.
Choose the REFLECTIVE one. The
other one is more complicated than it is worth. Again you can control
the lighting and the opacity and the intensity. I like to keep the
intensity between 42 and 52 or so. Otherwise, you won't have a really
seamless graphic. What this does is to make use of the colors on
the edges to alter the edges so that when this graphic is placed
next to itself on all 4 sides, there will not be a line there. You
really have to try this to see how beautifully this works.
