The Universe

The Universe

by Cecilia Price

We as human beings constantly try
To unravel the meaning of life
We, with whatever talent or genius we have
Work hard to learn, to achieve, to share.

Some of us make money, some of us only want to know
The secrets of the Universe, of Earth, air and water
Brilliant physicists, medical doctors, inventors
Carry mankind along as we learn together.

But the struggle to learn, to prove what we've learned
Has been long and arduous. Yet we go on, and on...
But there is more, so much more to know,
For in truth, we are like grains of sand on the beach.

The Creator of all knows the laws of physics, mathematics
Far beyond our power to learn or comprehend,
Even genius could not understand it all, it's far too vast.

That's what I've tried in an humble inefficient way
To show, to imagine, the circle of life, the unity
We have with our higher power, whatever name we give Him
And with all the Universe, the space out there,
And the space inside ourselves.
