Oil Portraits

Paintings like this, with hands included, can be painted for $1,000. I can work from photographs or from life.

"Brett", Oil on canvas, 16" x 20"

This is a painting of a handsome young artist, Brett, who was a favorite subject of mine. Since there is only the "bust", this type of portrait is painted for $750.

"Two Smiley Faces", Oil on canvas, 36" x 48"

Two children, posed in a formal setting, painted from the parents' photograph of them, was one of my biggest commissions and a personal triumph in painting. The first person in the painting would be, for a full length portrait, $1,500, and to add a second person, $500 more. This painting was actually painted using two photographs, as they didn't smile at the same time!

I don't count this as a portrait because the likenesses don't matter as much as the place and the action of resting there. This painting is not for sale. If I did one like this for you, it would be $2,000.
